So what causes your lights to flicker?
Common causes for flickering lights include:
- electrical connections coming loose
- outdated electrical system
- overloaded electrical circuits
That said, flickering of lights is essentially a measure of the resistance of the circuit that feeds both the lights and the load causing the flickering. If the flickering is frequent, or if the flickering has changed without any intentional changes in the electrical system, then this could be an early indication of a problem.
You should also listen for buzzing or crackling sounds. Some of these problems should be left for an electrician to handle. I would suggest contacting our office and schedule an emergency repair. This is a serious problem and should not be ignored.
A malfunctioning electrical system can lead to catastrophe. Lets face it, we all want to put off repairs for a later date so the we could do it ourselves. While this might work with a squeaky door or a leaky faucet, but some problems could be of nuisance and can spell disaster. When it comes to your electrical system, it simply needs that special attention form a electrician.
